Saturday music lovers came together to celebrate the life and death of a blues legend.
"Her name was Gertrude Ma Rainey, and she could really sing the blues." sang Ed Cox of the Columbus Jazz Society.
The Columbus Jazz society held a special event at the recently-restored "Ma" Rainey House in Columbus.
Rainey is often called the "Mother of the Blues" for her contribution of more than 94 blues recordings in the early 20th century.
