I am now in week three of, "Get Moving Mondays." This week I actually lost a half pound...but I am gaining muscle. I lost about 6.5 percent of fat. I have been told this is a good thing, because muscles help burn more calories. Also, some advice for you guys: muscle weighs more than fat. When I weighed-in last Friday, I was kind of down, because I didn't lose much this week. However, the muscle gain was GREAT! Sometimes it is very hard to get up and work-out, but I know I got to do it...because I have so many people cheering for me. Plus, I want you to get up and get moving for at least 30 minutes a day.
Last week, I started taking a class called Group Active at North Columbus Athletic Club. It is an hour long class that combines cardio and weightlifting. It is actually a fun class that will have you sweating (smile). I went to the 5:45 class on Wednesday morning. I really like the class because you are moving non-stop the entire hour, so you are burning a lot of calories throughout the entire workout. If you get a chance you should try it out.
As far as my eating, I have actually been doing well. It has not been hard at all. Just hearing the positive comments from my co-workers and of course you guys--our loyal viewers at WTVM-are very motivating. I will have to say after three weeks of this I have not had french fries, but Friday I gave in for a small fry at Chick-fil-A. I always try to reward myself with something every week. Also, last week I tried granola bars for the first time in my life and I LOVE them. My favorite is the honey and oats bars. Guess what, I have my co-workers trying to slip in my drawer to get them too. They have an instant crave for them...when I pull them out (Cheryl Renee and Chauncy Glover).
My progress is going very well. I have lost 5 pounds. That means I now weigh 245 pounds. My goal weight is 165, so I have 80 pounds to go.
