Financial Fraud

Crime Stoppers and the Columbus Police Department are looking for information concerning the theft of a Financial Transaction Card along with several counts of Financial Transaction Card Fraud.

On November 6, 2007 at 1:00 a.m. the Columbus 911 Communications Center dispatched an officer to the 800 block of Barkley Way in reference to a theft.  The victim reported to the officer that on November 5, 2007 while at work she discovered that her wallet was missing from her handbag.  Initially this did not overly concern her because she thought that she had left the wallet at home.  Upon returning home and being unable to locate the wallet, she began checking on her credit and debit accounts.  That is when she learned that the CB&T card listed in her name had been used at two (2) local businesses.  The victim stated that she immediately cancelled the other cards that were also in her wallet.  Video surveillance provides some insight into the identity of the suspect.  We are asking for the assistance of the Columbus community in the positive identification of the suspect.

If you have any information concerning this case or any other criminal activity, please contact the Crime Stoppers Unit at 706-653-3188.  If your information leads to an arrest and indictment, you could receive a reward of up to $1,000.00 and you do not have to give your name.
