I hope your New Year is off to a great start.  My schedule has been so busy that I haven't been able to write a blog.  I just want to update you on how things are going.  The holidays were very hard for me because I love sweets and all the good food from the parties. I did stay strong, but I have to admit I did have some sweets.   I am still trying to get back into the swing of things.  My goal this year is to continue my exercise regimen and keep eating healthier.

This has been an incredible journey because I have met some motivating people who have encouraged me through phone calls, e-mails, and just walking up to me in public.  I just really want to thank each of you from the bottom of my heart.   When I was at the Health Expo this weekend, I met a lady, who I think is from Marion County, who lost about 42 pounds.  She told me the "Get Moving Mondays" segment motivated her  to keep exercising.

As far as my weight loss is concerned, I have lost about 15 pounds and I have gained about 19 pounds of muscle.  When I first began gaining muscle I was upset, but I have learned that muscle will help you in the long run.  It will actually help you burn more calories and help lower your body fat percentage.

Over the holidays, I went shopping with some friends and co-workers.  I went to some stores I use to dream of shopping in one day.  I was able to find my size on the rack in each store.  I know you are wondering what stores...they are Express, American Eagle, and the Gap.

If you have any good recipes, weight loss tips, or even motivational poems/messages...send them my way.  I really need them right now as I push towards my goal.  I am praying I reach my goal by early summer.  I want to show off my new physique on the beach.
