Obama Gets Big Endorsement

Jan. 28, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Barack Obama gets a major boost from a political dynasty in America.

Senator Ted Kennedy, Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy and Caroline Kennedy are endorsing Obama.

During a rally at American University Senator Kennedy praised John Edwards and Senator Hillary Clinton, but said he believed Obama was a "man with extraordinary gifts of leadership and character."

Columbus State University Dean of College of Arts and Letters, William Chappell says while the endorsements won't win any votes, it's a boost for Obama. "As far endorsements goes Obama definitely has a couple of trump cards with the Kennedy's and Oprah Winfrey. You can't get much better than that," says Chappell.

Senator Ted Kennedy is expected to campaign vigorously for obama ahead of Super Tuesday.

Monday, Obama also picked up the endorsement of nobel-prize winning author Toni Morrisson.
