There is plenty of damage to clean up after Sunday's storms and the Red Crosses throughout Alabama are pitching in around the area. The Lee County Red Cross sent an emergency response vehicle as well as volunteers to assist with the storm relief in some of the hardest hit areas.
Their job at this time is to aid the victims of the storms with food, shelter and emotional support. The Lee County Red Cross said people have called asking what they can do, but more help is always needed.
Executive director for the Lee County Red Cross, Jennifer Ryan, said, "Financial donations are needed. We always need blood donations, so if you can make a blood donation at your earliest convenience that will help to keep the blood supply strong. And we need volunteers."
Ryan also said the Red Cross website www.redcross.org has a "Safe and Well" link where you can check on friends and family members who were affected by the storms. They also ask if your home had any damage, to register with the site so others can know you are safe.
