Thunder on The Hooch

On July 4th, WTVM News Leader 9 presents our 8th Annual Thunder on the Hooch from 1pm until 9:30 pm on both the Columbus and Phenix City River Walks.

WTVM News Leader 9’s Thunder on the Hooch is a full day of free rides, free patriotic entertainment, crafts, great food, fireworks and fun. This family event is alcohol and litter free!

The free rides such as moonwalks, spin-outs, super slides and turbo swings kick off at 1pm and continue all day long on the Columbus and Phenix City River Walks. Kids will also enjoy free face painting and balloons. Craft and food vendors also open at 1pm on both sides of the river. You can purchase all sorts of crafts from picture frames to hand-made jewelry to leather working and art. Food vendors will be selling a variety of tasty treats including barbeque, funnel cakes and sno-cones.

Great family entertainment begins in the Phenix City Amphitheater at “The God and Country Celebration” at 6 pm
