Decision expected by week's end

WTVM has learned the five-week limbo surrounding the Columbus State women's softball program could come to an end this week.

On Monday, head softball coach Tiffany Tootle met with CSU president Dr. Frank Brown in her effort to be reinstated to her job, according to athletic director Jay Sparks. Sparks said that a decision from Brown is expected on either Thursday or Friday.

If she is relieved of her post on a permanent basis, Tootle has 20 days to further appeal the decision.

Tootle was placed on paid administrative leave in mid-March, with assistant coach Brad Huskisson taking over the team.
