Columbus man dies from stab wounds to the chest

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) -  A Local man dies from stab wounds to the chest and detectives have a woman in custody for his murder.

Fifty-six year-old Eddie Porter was found laying on the ground by EMS crews outside a corner lot on the 2200th block of Tillman Street and Ewart Avenue around 3:45 p.m.

Porter was transported to the Medical Center. He died while undergoing treatment for a stab wound to the chest around 5:00 p.m.

Robbery Homicide detectives determined the victim was stabbed by 46 year-old Rozelletta  Blackshire. We're told the victim and the suspect were arguing at the time. It's not known at the time what relationship the two had.

Blackshire was taken into custody and charged with murder. She is scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
