July 24, 2008

(WTVM)- A house fire in Alexander City has claimed the life of a teenage girl. Fire Marshall Craig Clark says 17-year-old Jasmine Russell was taking a nap when the fire started and was the victim of smoke inhalation.  Russell's sister was also in the house but she made it out okay. Firefighter Tommy Hunter suffered burns at the scene but his injuries were not serious. Investigators think the fire may have started in an air conditioner.
