FBI's Most Wanted -- Michael Registe

July 28, 2008

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM/ABC) -- A fugitive has been on the run since last year's double murder of two high school friends.

Their lives were taken on July 20, 2007, when police say Michael Registe shot Bryan Kilgore and his high school friend Randy Newton Jr. in the back of their heads.

Police Chief Ricky Boren says, "Registe is a danger to society, and has some drug affiliation, has some gang affiliation, the man will basically take your life."

Not long after the murders, Registe fled the country to the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has been on the run ever since.

The FBI hopes the public will step in to turn-in Registe. His name has been added to the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted list .

Registe has distinctive tattoos -- including one on his arm of the cartoon character Yosemite Sam.

Since the FBI started the top 10 list in 1950, 459 out of 489 fugitives have been caught. 150 of those apprehended are the direct result of the public's help.

Registe is on the same list at Osama Bin Ladin. To see the FBI's list of top ten fugitives, click here.
