COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Brookstone and Pacelli football players have a lot of work cut out for them tonight in the Brookstone Pacelli match-up. And to get ready for game day, they've got to have some full belly's. So News Leader Nine caught up with the Brookstone team during their game day breakfast at Indy's.

When asked what a typical Friday morning is like at Indy's, long time employees, Edna Maddox and Addie Jones said, " Busy. Very busy. We have to get them fed and off to school."

At 6:45 every Friday morning, when most students are sleeping or scrambling to get to school, you can find the Brookstone football team gathered together at Indy's.

"It's a good way to bond first thing in the morning as a team," said Senior football player Carter Galbraith, "We've been doing it for about 30 years. It's always been a tradition. It started in the early 80's. It started off with just linemen, but we let a few running backs eat with us. It's just a good way to start a game day."

The long-standing tradition brings the team together for an early-morning meal. So what's on the menu on for game day?

Sophomore Brewton McCluskey said, "Every Friday, scrambled eggs, grit, bacon and toast."

"I've ordered the same thing all four years whether I'm sick or hungry it's the same. I'm a little bit superstitious about it. French toast and biscuits," said Galbraith.

With all superstitions aside, it's easy to see what keeps these guys coming back for more.
