The department of energy recommends several measures to keep the heat in your home this winter.

AMONG THEM:

*Make sure you have enough insulation in your walls, foundation and roof.

*Caulk or place weather strips over the cracks around doors and windows.

*Add storm windows or replace old windows with newer, more energy effiecient ones.

*Use a programmable thermostat with your heating system.

*Reduce the water flow through your water heater
