COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -From manicures and pedicures, to color and cuts, pampering can be pricey, but don't worry. If money's tight, there's still a way to have beauty on a budget.

Rivertown School of Beauty is just one of the local cosmetology schools where customers can take advantage of cheaper prices as students hone their craft.

The concept itself is nothing new, but Admissions Counselor Christina Cromartie says some of the clients are.

At many upscale salons, a pedicure runs anywhere from $50.00 and up. Even smaller nail salons offer the service for about 25 bucks. At Rivertown, it's $14.00. You'll save $36.00.

A shampoo and style is $9.00. At most hair salons, it's more than $30.00.

Even I took advantage of the mini-facial. And for a service that runs about 30 minutes and just over $12.00 that's what I'd call beauty on a budget.
