COLUMBUS, GA (WXTX) - Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Schaaf has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and criminal attempt armed robbery.
Police say he went into the Mongolian BBQ restaurant on Milgen Road last night around eight o'clock, armed with a foot-long wrench and tried to rob the business.
In the process, he beat two of the employees in the head with the wrench.
But the owner fought back, grabbing a golf club that was being used to prop open a door to fight Schaaf off.
A customer also helped subdue him and when police arrived, Schaaf was laying on the floor with his ankles saran-wrapped together.
Both employees and Schaaf were taken to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
