COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -  One of the students questioned by police for allegedly having sex with his teacher contacted WTVM today and told me exclusively over the phone, that all of the allegations are false.

He says the teacher in question has not had sex with any of her students.

He tells me the teacher has been nothing more than a caretaker for him.

WTVM is not identifying the teacher unless formal charges are announced.

The student also told me the alleged scandal was made up by a former friend.

Meanwhile, a mother of the students involved in the controversy says she still believes there was an inappropriate relationship between the teacher and her son.

She went on to tell me that she believes the teacher has brainwashed the students into supporting her.

The Georgia Professional Standards Commission says no complaints or disciplinary action have been taken against the teacher in question, dating back to 1997.

The school district was unavailable for comment today.

Meanwhile, police say their investigation is ongoing.
