SAVANNAH, GA - A Savannah firefighter has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run wreck in South Carolina. 29-year-old Ryan Scott Cudlip surrendered to Bluffton, S.C., police officers Sunday morning.
He is accused of hitting 37-year-old Rosember Lopez-Martinez on a bicycle on Christmas night. Police said Cudlip was charged with involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in death, both are felonies.
Cudlip was placed in the Beaufort County, S.C., jail where he awaits a bond hearing. A Savannah Fire spokesman said Cudlip was placed on leave.
