5 Albany teens charged in gang-related shootings

ALBANY, GA- Albany police say five young males are in custody each charged for their roles in two shootings Saturday night. Police said their ages range from 21 to 16.

The five are accused of plotting the gang-related attack. All were charged with gang participation and conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

The arrests, announced Tuesday, are connected to the shootings of two Albany teens. Police said the 17 and 19-year-old males are expected to recover.

The five were placed in the Dougherty County Jail. Police said they expect to make additional arrests.
