Man admits running pot-grow operation

MACON, GA - A Lee County man is headed to federal prison following his conviction in Macon federal court for running a multistate marijuana operation.

U.S. Attorney's Office said Frank Spring entered a guilty plea on Monday to charges he was the mastermind behind a marijuana grow operation in Lee County.

In exchange for the plea deal, Spring faces up to 12 years in prison. No sentencing date was announced.

The case also resulted in the arrests of another 12 individuals after authorities dismantled other grow operations in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.
