LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - Two Lee County inmates are back behind bars after escaping from their work-release program.

Thirty-year-old Chamika Felton and 28 year-old Shaneka Butler had been missing since Tuesday in East Alabama.

We're told the suspects did not return to the Lee County Detention Center after finishing up their shift at Sonics.

Police say a tip led them to South Long Street in Opelika where the women were found and arrested this morning.

The two women are now facing felony charges, and increased sentence time.

Both had only a few months left on their sentences.
