LANETT, AL (WTVM) -  Around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Lanett Police got a call that there was a fight at a home on South 11th Street.

When they got to there, they found a woman laying in the road, covered in blood.

"She was screaming, 'He's got a knife, he's got a knife and they beat him up.' And they run up the hill and find a gentleman laying in the yard and he's bleeding out of the top of his head and unconscious," said Detective MJ Jones with the Lanett Police Department.

That man was Hector Aguiliar. At first, police thought he was a victim in this case. But investigators say Aguiliar was in fact, the perpetrator.

Police say, in a drunken and jealous rage, he had driven to the house with his girlfriend, threatening to kill the man he thought she was involved with.

"There was a gentleman on the scene who his girlfriend was accused of sneaking around with and that's who he was upset with," Jones said.

When he got there, police say Aguiliar stabbed a man standing outside of the house. His girlfriend tried to stop him but ended up falling prey to the bloodshed.

"He actually stabbed through his girlfriend's hand and into the victim's back," Jones explained.

Hearing the commotion, two other men ran out of the house to help. They too were stabbed in the scuffle.

"The offender, Mr. Aguiliar, was still swinging the knife," said Jones.

But the victims fought back.

"The three males victims restrained forcibly the offender in this case with a wooden handle out of a hammer and their fists." Jones added.

Two of the victims were treated at the scene and the others were taken to the hospital where they were treated and released.

Hector Aguiliar is listed in stable condition at Lanier Memorial.

When he is released from the hospital, he'll be immediately arrested and charged with attempted murder and assault.
