Woman Electrocuted While Trying to Restore Power

ELLAVILLE, Ga. (WXTX) - A 23-year-old woman in Schley County has been electrocuted while trying to reconnect the electrical supply to her southwest Georgia home.

Sheriff Shane Tondee said Christina Lynn had her electrical power cut off by Flint Electric in December. Tondee says Lynn called the power company at 2:13 p.m. Feb. 5 asking how much it would cost to have her power restored.

The sheriff says when a teenage boy who was living with the Lynn family came home from school around 3:30 p.m., he found Lynn dead by the power pole.

Coroner Johnny Wall says Lynn, while climbing the 8 foot-ladder, tried to make a connection and "touched the wrong part."

He says 14,400 volts were at the site.
