Bank robbery suspect captured moments later

AUBURN, AL - On Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at approximately 12:26 p.m. the Auburn Police Division responded to a robbery call at Auburn Bank located in the 100 block of North Gay Street.

According to bank officials a female suspect presented a note to the teller at the walk-up window of the drive-through demanding money.  The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Moments later, officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Opelika Road and North Ross Street.  The driver of the vehicle matched the description of the suspect.

She was taken into custody and the stolen cash was recovered.  No weapon was displayed during the robbery and no injuries were reported. 

The suspect, identified as Sandra Renea Robinson, age 38, of Waverly, Alabama, has been arrested and will be charged with Robbery 1st Degree.
