COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A group from the local area is lending a helping hand to patients at a damaged hospital in Panama City Beach.
Hurricane Michael was the strongest hurricane to hit the Panhandle of Florida and left a trail of disaster behind before it weakened to a tropical storm.
The eye of the storm ripped through Panama City Beach with winds over 150 MPH causing a trail of damage.
Many patients, family, and community members need assistance as emergency groups asses the damage.
The Life Saver 3 of Auburn/ Opelika left this morning to help with evacuating patients from a damaged hospital.
They are asking that the community sends prayers to the crews and patients during this time.
