COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Gloomy weather persisting for Monday morning with patchy drizzle and fog added to the widespread cloud cover we saw over the weekend. A warm front south of the Valley will attempt to lift northward this afternoon, and will help push temperatures closer to the upper 60s this afternoon, so milder than the weekend at least, but still plenty of clouds around.
Apart from some patchy drizzle and isolated light rain showers today, better rain coverage holds off until Tuesday when a cold front moves through the Southeast. Expect some thunderstorms to arrive by lunchtime tomorrow with some lingering showers in their wake for Tuesday evening. By Wednesday morning though, colder and drier air settled into the Valley will bring us some chilly sunshine with lows in the 30s – even for Valentine’s Day as well. The reprieve from the rain ends by Friday when our next rainmaker brings scattered showers prior to a drier and chilly weekend.
