COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A resource fair was held Tuesday at Elizabeth Canty Homes in Columbus.
The fair gave the opportunity for residents to learn about various community service agencies. Organizations including the YMCA and the Family Center attended the fair. There was more than a dozen tables set up for people to learn how to tap learn about the assistance available to them.
“This is helpful to the community because you have residents in the community who may not know that there is help out there for things that they may need,” said Jonathan Evans, resident service manager. “A lot of times you have residents who say, ‘I need diapers for my child or I may need a small amount of food to help me to the end of the week.’ There are resources out there that they can utilize so they can get these types of needs fulfilled.”
Resource fairs are usually held at carious locations every quarter.
