JACKSON CO., GA (WTOC) - The Arcade Police Department has cancelled an AMBER Alert for a missing 1-year-old girl.
According to the AMBER Alert that was issued just after 6 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 1-year-old Baylee Sue Peeples was abducted by her father, 39-year-old Robert Joseph Peeples, and was believed to be in extreme danger.
Just after 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, the Arcade Police Department cancelled the AMBER alert saying Baylee Sue Peeples had been located and is safe. However, the suspect, Robert Peeples who is also the child’s father, was still missing.
Baylee was later located Thursday afternoon at a family member’s home.
Arcade Police held a news conference and told local media that Robert “Joey” Peeples took his daughter from a home in Arcade just before 2 a.m. Thursday. Police said Peeples was dropping Baylee off at her grandmother’s home when he and her mother, Tiffany Aycock, got into an argument. Police said Peeples refused to let the toddler out of the car. He then hit Aycock with his van as she tried to get Baylee away from him.
Robert Peeples was arrested by Gwinnett County Police Thursday night. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail around 10:40 p.m.
