COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A yearly fundraiser presented by the Jewish Ladies Aid Society of Temple Israel will take place in Columbus next week.
Deli Day will be held Thursday, April 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Temple Israel, located at 1617 Wildwood Avenue.
Every year, people in the community volunteer to help make over 2,000 sandwiches. Money raised at Deli Day is used for Temple Israel projects and the Wynnton Neighborhood Network. The Temple also supports local charities and initiatives to help soldiers at Fort Benning.
“It not only brings our congregation together, it brings our while community together,” said Gloria Cohen, Deli Day fundraiser chair.
The event will offer a kosher-styled corned beef sandwich, potato chips, pickle, coleslaw, and a beverage for $12. Home-baked desserts will be $5.
