MIDLAND, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County school officials held a meeting Wednesday night to discuss a spot rezoning proposal.
The meeting took place at Midland Middle School.
If approved by the school board, more than 100 students who are currently assigned to Aaron Cohn Middle School will be reassigned to Midland Middle for the 2019-2020 school year. School officials said the proposal is the result of the current capacity at Aaron Cohn and the project growth at the school over the next few years.
Officials said the proposal would alleviate overcrowding and balance out enrollment at both schools.
Another meeting about the rezoning proposal will take place Thursday, April 4 at Midland Middle School from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Muscogee County School Board will vote on the proposal April 15.
