COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - On Saturday, Runners from across the Chattahoochee Valley hit the streets for some active fun but also to help their neighbors who may be running on empty.
Feeding the Valley held their 3rd annual “Outrun Hunger” 5K this morning. Despite some light rain hundreds gathered to participate in the event or cheer on others.
The run was put on by the local nonprofit Feeding the Valley event. It started at their food bank in Columbus and went down the Fall Line Trace.
Participants were asked to bring non-perishable food items to be entered into a drawing for prizes.
All the proceeds went to benefit Feeding the Valley, which provides food to local people and families in need.
