COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Eight individuals are in custody following a pandering detail by the Special Operations Unit of the Columbus Police Department on Saturday.
Authorities say the detailed operation occurred in north Columbus and was a one day event.
A person commits the offense of pandering when he or she solicits a person to perform acts of prostitution, or when he or she knowingly assembles people for the purpose of being solicited by others to perform acts of prostitution.
The Special Operations Unit of the Columbus Police Department is tasked with enforcing laws related to drug offenses, alcohol related offenses, gambling offenses and prostitution offenses.
The following is a list of the individuals that were arrested (pictured in same order above):
- Harsh Patel (Born 1989)
- Desmond Bernard Grant (Born 1986)
- Dorian Laronn Williams (Born 1975)
- John J. Wright (Born 1990)
- Quinton Bernard Crowder (Born 1978)
- Tyler Briggs (Born 1995)
- Eddie Chambers (Born 1975)
- Jerome Cade (Born 1990)
All individuals were charged with pandering. A preliminary hearing is set in Recorder’s Court for Monday, Apr. 8.
