Lanett Police search for man wanted suspected of theft on Gilmer Ave.

LANETT, AL(WTVM) - The Lanett Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man they believe burglarized multiple local businesses last week.

On Tuesday, the Lanett Police Department released photographs from a theft at the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Reuse Store.

The male was first caught on camera removing items from the Center on N. Glimer Street. A witness stated that they then saw the suspect leave the Fuller Center and go into the fenced area of Jerry’s Auto, located directly behind the Fuller Center on N. Lanier Avenue.

The male suspect was later identified as Matthew Ryan Allen of Valley, Alabama.

Allen was also linked to several other burglaries and thefts in the immediate area at the same time.

Allen is currently wanted by authorities for the following charges:

  • 3rd degree Theft of Property charge (burglary of Fuller Center)
  • 1st degree Theft of Property charge (theft of a vehicle from Jerry’s Automotive)
  • 4 additional charges of Theft of Property (for other vehicles burglarized from Jerry’s Auto)
  • 3 charges of Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle
