House of Heroes partners with Cascade Hills Church to repair home of veteran’s wife

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - House of Heroes partnered with Cascade Hills Church Monday for a home repair in Columbus.

Repairs were done to the home of Zora Anderson, widow of veteran Eddie Anderson, who passed away in 2008.

Eddie Anderson served 21 years in the United States Army. During his time serving, he earned the National Defense Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, a Vietnam Campaign Media with Device, Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge and more.

“Today the House of Heroes are out here helping me to restore my house that was in bad condition and in need of paint,” said Zora Anderson. “They are pressure washing it. They are painting it. Sorry the rain interrupted us, but they will finish. I am sure so far, they will finish. I am very proud of the House of Heroes. They even fed me lunch.”

People also gathered at the home for a flag ceremony at noon.
