LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - Police in LaGrange are searching for two man who attempted to commit armed robbery, but failed when their firearm did not work properly.
The victim reported that he was at his home in the 100 block of Cox St. on Apr. 10 just before 9:20 p.m. when two men came to his door.
He stated that he let the two suspects in because he knew one of them, whom he identified as Tavion Harton.
The victim told police that once he let them inside, Harton pulled out a firearm and pointed it at him at which point the victim pushed Harton.
Harton then pointed the firearm at the victim again and pulled the trigger twice, but it malfunctioned.
The two suspects then fled through a rear door of the residence.
Witnesses were able to confirm Harton was one of the two men seen entering the residence.
Harton was later arrested at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center where he was being treated for a hand injury and taken to the Troup County Jail.
