COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Residents of Farrfield Manor Senior Apartments in Columbus celebrated the 55th anniversary of its sponsoring organization, Retirement Housing Foundation (RHF).
RHF is one of the nation’s largest nonprofits that provides housing for seniors and low-income families. The foundation provides blood pressure checks twice a month and at least one health education/wellness program each month.
“We have the largest aging population in history,” said Aretha Richards. “There is just not enough quality housing. It is important for us to get the word out there at events like this to educate the public.”
Columbus Mayor Skip Henderson presented Farrfield Manor with a proclamation in honor of today’s anniversary. The apartments are the result of a collaborative effort by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and RHF.
