Lanett thief forces gas station clerk in restroom, steals car

LANETT, AL (WTVM) - Lanett police are on the hunt for an Opelika man believed to have been involved in a theft at a gas station.

28-year-old Karl Julian Rambo, Jr. reportedly entered the Marathon gas station in the 2300 block of S. Broad Ave. in Lanett at approximately 8:45 a.m.

Rambo allegedly produced a knife and made the clerk give him an undisclosed amount of money before forcing him into the restroom.

The suspect then left the scene by taking the clerk’s car, a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with Alabama tag number 43BK469.

Rambo was last seen wearing a gray short sleeve over a blue long sleeve shirt, gray or green cargo shorts and a red University of Alabama hat.
