COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Three men were arrested Wednesday afternoon after police executed a search warrant at a home on George Street.
Columbus police confirmed they were executing the search warrant for criminal activity.
27-year-old Adonis Pernell, 29-year-old Emory Stephens and 32-year-old Braddeus Edge were taken into custody.
Shortly after 1 p.m., officers surrounded the home and blocked it off as a crime scene. Members of the SWAT team and K9 handlers soon followed, working behind crime scene tape.
Police did not confirm what criminal activity they were investigating, but two large TVs were taken from the home and an SUV was towed away.
Pernell is facing charges including possession of hydrocodone, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, possession of schedule IV substances, obstructing an officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and gang activity.
Stephens is facing a charge for possession of marijuana and Edge is facing charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
One neighbor said he has lived on George Street for a while and has never seen anything like this before. Another neighbor said he’s seen police, but never a SWAT team.
Pernell and Edge appeared in Recorder’s Court and pleaded not guilty. Their cases were bound over to Superior Court.
