COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus Police have charged a man with murder nearly 18 months after responding to a deadly shooting on Winston Road.
33-year-old Curtis Williams III is charged with the murder of 30-year-old Steve Phillips Jr.
Before his death, Phillips was a key witness in the murder case against Kevin Babe Henderson, a gang member convicted in the Nov. 12, 2014, execution-style killing of Chad Herring. Columbus police have not said if they believe Phillips’ testimony was related to his death.
