COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Muscogee County Marshal’s Office is working to make sure citizens have what they need to defend themselves.
The Refuse to be a Victim seminar took place Monday to prepare community members in the event of a break-in or personal attack. The course was free to the public and takes place multiple times throughout the year.
"We want people to know what's going on. We want them to get some safety tips,” said instructor Cpl. Ezekiel Byrd. “And being safe and being observant, I think that's the most important part because you're going to have things going on out there in the community. You just have to be observant."
The Marshal’s office also offers a civilian firearm training course to prepare people as well.
