COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus Police Department is warning the public of a door-to-door scam.
According to the police department, a group of men have been going door-to-door in the area and claiming they work for a company that conducts DNA testing for pre-cancer screening. Residents who receive Medicaid and Medicare benefits are being targeted.
The police department urges anyone who has been a victim to this scam to place an alert on their social security number and protect their identity.
If Medicare or Medicaid information has been given to the individual, please notify Medicare and Medicaid to advise of the incident.
