Man commits armed robbery, sexual assault at Columbus Dollar General, employees say

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police are investigating an incident in Columbus in which Dollar General employees say a suspect committed armed robbery and sexual assault in the store.

Police say they responded to an armed robbery the store in the 2500 block of Hamilton Rd. at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Apr. 23.

When they arrived, employees of the store reported to police that a fellow employee had been sexually assaulted by the suspect prior to the robbery.

No information on a suspect has been released at this time.
