BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) - A Ramsay High School senior has fulfilled a childhood dream: 18-year-old Jillian Jolly is going to Yale University in the fall on a full-scholarship, totaling nearly $300,000.

Jolly is ranked No. 4 at Ramsay with a 4.4 GPA.

According to a release from the City of Birmingham, 11 other colleges offered Jolly full scholarships. In all she’s amassed more than $2.3 million in scholarship offers from the 12 colleges including Wake Forest University, Howard University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Boston College, Tuskegee University, Boston University, Emory University, Washington University in St. Louis, Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, Berea College and George Washington University.

Jolly said she tells her friends when applying to colleges to keep trying and trust the process.

"It’s not always going to be easy. It’s going to take a lot of time and dedication and hard work, but everyone can do it and I’m a living testimony,” said Jolly.
