CPD hosts ceremony to honor employees

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Employees at the Columbus Police Department were honored Wednesday.

Two separate ceremonies were held at the Public Safety Building. Following each ceremony, light refreshments were served for guests and those who were honored.

Several awards were given at each ceremony, including Officer of the Year, Employee of the Year, and the CPD Lifesaving Award, among others.

"I think that you need to let the individuals know that work for you, that represent our city, that they are appreciated,” said Columbus Police Chief Ricky Boren. It’s important for them to know that we, the management, and our citizens in our community appreciate what they do."

News Leader 9 wants to congratulate the officers for their dedication.
