COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The ground floor entrance of the Columbus Government Center has reopened.
The entrance was closed for nearly a year after flooding in a large portion of the government center.
Muscogee County Sheriff Donna Tompkins said their temporary security checkpoint in the east wing closed at the end of last week.
Officials don’t expect any more changes to the entrance. Tompkins said about 900 people enter the building each day and the majority are coming to courts on the lower floors.
