CPD increases reward for information in 2017 murder of teen

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Columbus police are continuing to search for the person responsible for the 2017 shooting death of a teenager at Bull Creek Apartments.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the people responsible for 17-year-old Destiny Nelson’s murder.

On January 16, 2017, Columbus police were dispatched to Bull Creek Apartments in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they found 17-year-old Destiny Nelson suffering from gunshot wounds.

An investigation has determined that Nelson’s death was botched gang retaliation for the January 2017 shooting death of Dominique Horton on 32nd Ave.

Nelson was an exceptional student beloved by her teachers and peers. She was attending both high school and college classes at the time of her death.
