COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission honored people and organizations that help preserve the environment and beautify the community on Thursday.
The 27th annual luncheon was held at Columbus State University’s Cunningham Center and WTVM’s Dylan Federico was the emcee of the event. Several elected officials and community leaders were in attendance.
"It's not just about the Keeping Columbus Beautiful Commission and the volunteers that the commission uses throughout the year. It’s also about the citizens of Columbus and the community and what they do to protect our environment,” said Billy Kendall, chairperson of the Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission.
The theme of this year’s luncheon was “Every Litter Bit Hurts.”
