COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A Columbus woman pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday after allegedly taking a baby lastt weekend.
Tami Tracy, 27, is charged with reckless conduct causing harm or endangering safety after a baby went missing in Columbus last weekend.
Six-month-old Naomi Graham was reported missing Saturday at around 1 p.m. As police investigated the incident, it was determined that Naomi might have been with Tracy, who was also declared a missing person.
The baby was later found and returned to her family. Tracy was taken into custody following Naomi’s return.
Naomi’s family said she disappeared while they were walking near the Riverwalk in Columbus. The family said they never expected Tray to take Naomi.
Naomi’s mother said the incident has made her think twice about who she allows around her children and hopes other mothers will be cautions as well.
Tracy’s case was turned over the state court. She was given a $2,500 bond and ordered have no contact with the child or the family involved in the case.
