Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire commissioner Jim Beck was indicted on 38 counts of fraud, along with embezzlement of over $2 million dollars.

ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - Gov. Brian Kemp has requested the resignation from Georgia’s Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Jim Beck on Wednesday.

In a letter to Beck, Kemp said Beck’s indictment “severely undermines” his ability to fulfill his official obligations to the people of Georgia.

Kemp stated that it would be highly inappropriate for Beck to continue to hold public office and asked him to step down immediately.
