Columbus River Dragons to bring professional hockey back to Chattahoochee Valley

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus may have lost the Columbus Cottonmouths several years ago, but the Fountain City is getting a second chance when it comes to professional hockey.

Ignite Pro Hockey announced in a press conference that the Columbus River Dragons will be coming to Columbus.

Ignite Pro Hockey is part of the Federal Hockey League, a nine team professional ice league with teams across the US.

The Columbus River Dragons season is set to begin the last week of October. Season tickets are expected to go on sale Tuesday, May 28 here.
