COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - More sizzling summer temperatures on tap for Tuesday, so don’t be fooled by the few clouds we saw around this morning. Sunshine in abundance once again today and it plans to stick around for the long haul—even into early next week. Low 90s expected this afternoon before we transition to mid-upper 90s by the end of the work week.
Still anticipating the chance for triple digit heat over the holiday weekend, so make sure you take heed of the dangerous heat with your outdoor plans! Rain chances continue to look slim to none over the next several days, though we could see a stray shower or two around tonight as some clouds pass through. Overall though, the hot, dry, and humid pattern will persist into early next week. Our best chance of breaking records on the temperature scale would be over the holiday weekend—records originally set back in the 1910s and 1930s. We haven’t seen a 100-degree day in Columbus since 2015, so any triple digit heat would break that streak as well.
